ABOUT ME

Growing up at the northwest edge of Chicago, I wrote stories about make-believe friends and gracious dead people, then stepped into ripped, black clothes, teased my hair, and joined my non-dead friends at concerts at the Cabaret Metro and a shadowy dance club named Medusa’s.

As a fan of the late '80s/early '90s alternative music scene and with my background as an employment discrimination attorney, my writing is infused with notions that challenge the skewered norms of fairness and acceptance, and the universal struggle to come to terms with an inalterable past.

I have a passion for urban legends, the historical significance of haunted places, and the intricacies of human memory. I'm a self-taught palm reader, a lover of The X-Files, U2, UFOs, and buried secrets . . . and I'm obsessed with overcoming an everlasting fear of The Dark.

I live in the Chicago area with my husband, three children, 105-pound Bernese Mountain Dog, and a wide variety of vintage concert t-shirts and coffee mugs.
